If you’re looking for something sweet and cheap, consider Asti, it’s sweet, bubbly and very economical.

I always buy the Rosso Spumante made by Ballatore (Gallo Wines). It’s red, slightly sweeter than champagne, soft, bubbly, and usually about $5.99 for a large bottle (750 mL).

Do you want Best or Cheapest? You can either get one or the other, not both in the same bottle. The best champagne to one individual could be the most expensive available. To another the best could be something they can afford but tastes sweet and goes down easy? To another the best would be a harsh flavor that needs to be sipped slowly in order to prolong the time it takes to get buzzed. To you the best could be cheapest and doesn’t taste bad so you can get drunk quickly. Maybe you should go out and shop for what is available and what you may be able to afford, then ask about the kind that interests you.

You shouldn’t rely on what others tell you to do, you should find out for yourself if it is right for you by trying it yourself.
Try bottles labled asti spumanti or extra dry brut sparkling wine. Brands will vary. It’s much easier to find a white sparkling wine than a pink or a red. Pink doesn’t really taste different than white, it’s just girlier.

Chandon Star, Taylor or Korbel, priced from $20 to $35. I believe they all make a Sec or sweeter version, none make pink. As close to French champagne as you’ll get.

For a sweet champagne your best bet is Ballatore Asti Spumante or any Asti Spumate for that matter. For a dryer champagne, Totts or Korbel is good. They are all extremely bubbly. As for the color pink, there are really few that are pink, most are clear.
There is a Andre that is pink and I would never recommend it.
